You Call This a Robot? - Day 2

Discovery Experience 1 - You Call This a Robot?Robotics Learning Objective: The students will learn how basic parts of a robot work by building a robot using either a (1) Lego robotics kit, (2) a VEX robotics kit, or (3) other material.

Day 2 – Practice Programming

Materials and Resources Needed:

  1. Lego robot kit
  2. Lego Mindstorm programming
  3. Instructions for different challenges
  4. Student logbook


Procedure:

  1. Students are given several different tasks to perform with their robot and when done they are checked off
    1. Go to the wall and back 
    2. Trace a shape on the floor  
    3. Draw a letter  
    4. Choreograph a dance to a 30 second segment of a song  
    5. Carry an object to a certain point and drop the object in a square
  2. Record observations in student log
